MIHAN SEZ Nagpur
The project that put Nagpur on India's logistics map
MIHAN is one of central India's largest infrastructure projects — an airport, a cargo hub and a Special Economic Zone rolled into one. Krisala Nagpur Township is listed about 4 km away.
What Is MIHAN?
MIHAN stands for Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur. It was conceived to use Nagpur's central location for air, road and rail freight, and is developed by the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC). The project includes Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for export-oriented units, and non-SEZ areas for supporting industries, housing and services.
Today the SEZ hosts IT and IT-enabled services firms, aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities, manufacturing and logistics operators. Each new unit brings jobs — and residential demand — to the southern side of the city.

MIHAN's SEZ and Non-SEZ Areas
MIHAN is divided into SEZ and non-SEZ zones. The SEZ offers tax and customs benefits to export-oriented units, which is why IT services, MRO and some manufacturers locate there. The non-SEZ areas allow supporting uses, including commercial, institutional and some residential development. Housing outside MIHAN's boundary, in the surrounding belt, serves the people who work in both.
How MIHAN Shapes the Neighbourhood
Large employment zones change the neighbourhoods around them: better roads, more buses and Metro use, new restaurants and retail, schools and hospitals, and higher demand for rental and owner-occupied housing. These changes tend to happen gradually, which is why the MIHAN belt has been a long-term story rather than a short-term spike.
